I was there for the first night on the 15th as well and i remember the discussions leading up to it with my family, talking about footwear and procedure for if we had to get out. Nobody should have to fear for their life going to a concert. Even though the show was amazing and everything was fine, i will never forget wondering what might happen just because of my love for one woman's music. Thank you for writing this - it's a discussion that needs to have been had. 🫶🏻

I'm so sorry your Eras show was tainted with fear and anxiety. Concerts are supposed to be joyous occasions, not fearful ones. When the news broke about the Vienna concerts, it was all I could think about that entire day, especially considering it happened so close to the horrifying Southport attack. Thinking back on my own Eras show, it felt like such a celebration of girlhood and femininity. That's what Taylor's music has always felt like to me. That's why it's so hard for me to not see this as a misogyny issue. It's baffling to me that so many people are trying to act like this wasn't going to be a purposeful attack on girls and women.

You talk in your post about the national emergency in regards to violence against women happening in the UK right now, and a similar thing has been happening this year in Australia, where I'm from. In Sydney in April of this year, there was a stabbing in a mall by a man who was specifically targeting women, five of which lost their lives, yet in all the news coverage of it, they wouldn't call it what it was- which was a deliberate act of violence against women. It's apparent that now more than ever it's important to talk about these things. Thank you for shedding some light on it in this piece 🤍🤍
